Cacti Rescue - AKL To Tauranga

Cacti can grow to be strange and magnificent beasts! This can also mean a little bit of trouble can occur when left for many years up against buildings - they are not as easy to dig out and remove or even re-locate as you’d think!

Aside from the obvious prickly nature of the task at hand, they are HEAVY, this 2m high, 1m wide specimen was over 400 kg and took about four hours of digging by three people to remove its roots safely to ensure it’s best chance of survival. Good thing we have a digger at home and were able to winch it up off the trailer to try and relocate it into its new bed of soil.
